Start with the buying decision
A useful configurator follows the order in which a customer naturally makes decisions. Begin with broad choices such as model or material, then reveal detailed fit, finish, personalization, and artwork questions.
Keep production-only information out of customer labels. Aura snapshots the final configuration so the storefront can remain readable while order records retain the detail needed to build the product.

Build once, assign deliberately
Steps live in a reusable library. A configurator links those steps into a journey, while product assignments decide where that journey appears. This separation prevents duplicated option maintenance.

Treat publish as a release
Saving changes updates the draft. Publishing creates the storefront version. Test required fields, conditional branches, currency, pricing, cart properties, and any generated previews before treating the version as production ready.
Common questions
Does saving a configurator immediately change the storefront?
No. Draft edits become storefront-visible only after the configurator is published.
Can one configurator be used on multiple Shopify products?
Yes. Product assignments connect the same configurator to one or more products, subject to the active Aura plan.
